Turkish telenovelas are taking over the Afrikaans TV landscape and the popular Doodsondes returns today for season 4! Called Deadly Sins in English, it follows sisters Zeynep (Sevda Erginc) and Yildiz (Eda Ece) from Istanbul. Zeynep is currently no longer part of the series and has moved overseas in the show, but Yildiz’s storyline is still going strong.
Season 3 ended with Yildiz falling pregnant by rich businessman Halit (Talat Bulut). They married but they were estranged during the pregnancy and Yildiz refused to live under Halit’s roof. They’d originally met in season 1 when Yildiz was Halit’s assistant, hired by his then-third wife Ender (Sevval Sam). Ender wanted Yildiz to seduce Halit into committing adultery with her so that Ender could divorce him and take most of his money. But they fell in love, which angered many of Halit’s employees and they tried to out him from his own business in season 3. In season 4, local actress
Monique Rockman (Beatrice Mack in thriller series Die Spreeus), who is the voice behind Yildiz, reveals that her character will go on an interesting journey. “I can’t give away whether she and Halit will reconcile, but what I can say is that she has grown up after everything she’s been through. There is a tragedy that awaits her, but she, Ender and Sahika (Nesrin Cavadzade), Halit’s ex-fiancée and employee, will end up in prison together,” reveals Monique. “Viewers can look forward to seeing how Yildiz takes her role as a mother seriously and only wants the best for her child.”
