Tape Aids for the Blind available again!

-

The Tape Aids office at the SPCA closed months ago, and because the Post Office has hardly been functioning during lockdown, many users of Tape

Aids Talking Books have been unable to get any new books.

Thus Tape Aids has sent a mini-library to Amberglen with more than 100 books on CD. The mini-library will be open on the first Tuesday of every month between 3pm and 4pm in the Amberglen Sanctuary. The selection of books will be changed every three or four months.

Note that membership of the library is open to anyone who is print disabled, due to sight impairment or other physical disabilities such as Parkinson’s. Funding has been difficult for most charities at this time, and Tape Aids is no exception, so they are asking for an annual membership fee of R300, or R25 per month. Membership forms will be available when the mini-library is open.

Members of Tape Aids will be able to access the tape library at Amberglen only by prior registration with Liz Harris, tel:

033 239 4577 or 079 938 3231. Please pass this information on to any residents in Howick who might benefit from listening to Talking Books.
