Hilton College ready to welcome runners and walkers

-

The next stop on the KZN Trail Running Midlands Series is Hilton College, with competitors being offered the choice of three distances, 7km, 12km and 20km.

Taking place on purpose-built trails at Hilton College from 6am on Sunday, February 12, the event starts at the Ducasse Pool Centre.

“This is one of our most popular single day venues ever and for all the right reasons,” a spokesperson for KZN Trail Running said.

“If you have run Hilton College, then you know why it is special. If you haven't, wow, are you in for a treat!

“These purpose-built trails wind through the stunning Hilton College Nature Reserve, which is not open to the public, so it is a proper treat to experience the serene pine plantations, expansive acacia grasslands, views of Otto's Bluff, Albert Falls and the uMngeni Valley … not to mention the antelope, zebras and giraffes that watch on.”

Both the 12km and 20km distances feature a big climb out of the valley, while the 7km route winds its way through the quiet plantations. The short and medium courses are walkable, and the 7km ideal for children and new trail runners.

Entry for the 20km run, which starts at 6am, is R230, with the 12km, which gets underway at 6.30am, costing R195 and the 7km, which is under starter’s orders at 7am, R135. Under 18s pay half price. Registration will be open from 5.30am.

Don’t rush off after the race as the vibrant race village has awesome facilities, including hot showers, a swimming pool, lucky draws, food and drink and good vibes.
