Yzerfontein pearls in liquidation offer development chance

-

LARGE West Coast developers and investors will be interested in 12 plots coming up for public auction by ClareMart Auction Group in Yzerfontein on March 27.

All the plots are in Pearly Bay, within walking distance of the beach. They form part of the assets of a company in liquidation, and will be sold separately and then as one lot.

Yzerfontein is a seaside hamlet about 85km north of Cape Town, with a picturesque harbour and endless stretches of unspoilt beach.

“These 12 plots are situated along Atlantic Drive and Fynbos Street, in a neighbourhood with many new homes. ClareMart sold 20 such sites in November for R4.6 million,” g r o up e xecutive di r e c t o r Andrew Koch says.

“The stands range in size from 679m² to 1 000m² and are zoned for residential use. All offer the perfect opportunity for the development of coastal homes for weekend inhabitants or for permanent residents.

“The town’s permanent residents number about 1 800, but the region’s growing reputation as a nature and marine paradise is resulting in more visitors staying,” he says.

Features include 16 Mile Beach, which is the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on the South African coastline. Anglers fish for snoek from the beach and permit holders collect mussels and dive for crayfish among the rocks.

There are several private nature reserves in the immediate vicinity, with a range of 4x4 routes as well as hiking, and game and nature trails.

The plots may be viewed at any time and will be auctioned at the Yzerfontein Town Hall on the corner of Buitenkant and Dolfyn Streets, at noon.
