How to choose an insurer

How do you decide on an insurer or know if yours is the best one for you? Most people decide on price: some choose the insurer that offers the lowest premium, while others assume that the more you pay, the more cover you get. Price is just one factor; understanding the different types of policies is another, as is knowing how much cover you need.

At this month’s meeting of the Acsis/Personal Finance Financial Planning Club, Dennis Jooste, the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance, will discuss the main factors you should consider when choosing an insurer, the common mistakes people make, and how his office can help consumers.
