★★ ½ (16) Ac­tion fan­tasy Be­fore he was pres­i­dent, le­gend has it that Abra­ham Lin­coln had a brief stint as a real-life vam­pire hunter. This ac­tion fan­tasy was pro­duced by the king of spook, Tim Bur­ton. The story goes, that at the age of nine, Lin­coln saw his mother be­ing killed by a vam­pire, Jack Barts. Some 10 years later, he un­suc­cess­fully tried to kill Barts, but in the process made the ac­quain­tance of Henry Sturgess who taught him how to fight and what was re­quired to kill a vam­pire. Many years later, as pres­i­dent of the US, he comes to re­alise that vam­pires are fight­ing with the Con­fed­er­ate forces. As a re­sult he mounts his own cam­paign to de­feat them.
