★★ ½ (16) Action fantasy Before he was president, legend has it that Abraham Lincoln had a brief stint as a real-life vampire hunter. This action fantasy was produced by the king of spook, Tim Burton. The story goes, that at the age of nine, Lincoln saw his mother being killed by a vampire, Jack Barts. Some 10 years later, he unsuccessf­ully tried to kill Barts, but in the process made the acquaintan­ce of Henry Sturgess who taught him how to fight and what was required to kill a vampire. Many years later, as president of the US, he comes to realise that vampires are fighting with the Confederat­e forces. As a result he mounts his own campaign to defeat them.
