Hudson stays as convener

-

FORMER South African opening batsman Andrew Hudson will remain convener of the national selection committee, Cricket SA said in a statement yesterday.

Shafiek Abrahams, who represented the Proteas at full international level, has also been retained on the panel while two new appointments to the panel have been made.

KwaZulu- Natal wicketkeeper Linda Zondi and former Gauteng all-rounder Hussein Manack join the four- man panel, while head coach Russell Domingo completes the panel in an ex-officio capacity.

Zondi was a member of the first official national under-19 team under the auspices of the then United Cricket Board of South Africa to tour England in 1995.

Manack performed the double of 2 000 runs (three centuries) and 50 wickets during his first-class career.

CSA’s High Performance manager Vinnie Barnes and transformation manager Max Jordaan also serve on the committee in a non-voting capacity.

The new panel will serve until the next ICC World Cup in Australasia in 2015.
