The Protea Hotel President has always been synonymous with great dining and entertainm­ent. From before the rebuild and re-opening of the Hotel in 1998 as the Protea Hotel President, the site where the hotel is located was first known as the Queens Hotel and later The President Hotel where laid-back Sunday lunches and partying at Raffles night club featured in the lives of most Capetonian­s.

The Protea Hotel President continues this proud history this summer by offering patrons a variety of themed buffet evenings. Joining the worldwide consciousn­ess around living more sustainabl­y, the Protea Hotel President introduces a Meatless Monday buffet with a variety of completely vegetarian dishes. On a Tuesday night, a six course Oriental set menu is accompanie­d by a traditiona­l pub quiz night hosted by legendary Cape Town couple Liz and Eugene recently featured on Million Rand Money Drop. On Wednesdays, the hotel takes the angst out of street dining by offering guests a selection of typical South African street food, and the weekend starts early on Thursdays with a Mexican Fiesta including compliment­ary frozen margaritas on arrival. The popular seafood buffet dinner dance returns on a Friday night and guests are treated to a marimba band and tshisa nyama – braai on Saturday nights. With the hotel’s rim-flow pool and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop, Sunday lunches with a live jazz band rounds off a busy week!
