Officials arrested for bribery
TWO CITY of Tshwane officials were arrested for corruption yesterday, said the Hawks.
Captain Paul Ramaloko said one of them was an administration officer and the other an electricity sub-contractor.
“This comes after the duo solicited R400 000 in return for clearing a businessman’s R1.3 million electricity debt,” he said.
The Hawks were alerted and the two were arrested after the man gave them R120 000.
Ramaloko said they would spend the long weekend behind bars.
They were expected to appear in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday. – Sapa
