Palm Royale sales soar to R170m

35 out of 58 retirement flats sold as block takes shape

-

A FLURRY of sales has pushed total sales at Palm Royale, the third phase of the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort at Century City, up to more than R170 million.

Owen Futeran of the developers, the Oasis Joint Venture, which comprises the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium, says five apartments worth more than R20m have been sold and sales of three units for a further R8m in total are close to being finalised.

“With six months to go until practical completion and about seven months until the first transfers are expected, 35 of the 58 apartments have now been sold. This represents 60 percent in number and 70 percent in value. The sales momentum is building now that buyers can see what they will be getting rather than just buying off plan.”

Palm Royale is being developed at a cost of R260m. The two- and three-bedroom apartments range from about 100m² to 237m² in size, from garden flats to penthouses in layout, and from R2.5m to about R8m in price. Many of the flats have large balconies with mountain and sea views.

The first two phases of the Oasis development comprised Palm Springs and Palm Grove blocks of flats and a clubhouse with facilities comparable with those of a five-star hotel. These include a 25m indoor heated pool, where water aerobics classes are given by a qualified teacher, a massage room, a sauna, a steam room, a gym, a library, lounge areas, a restaurant, a bar, a bridge room and a billiard room.

Residents automatically enjoy membership of the clubhouse, says Futeran.

Also completed in phase one is the Oasis Care Centre, which offers hotel-style assisted-living apartments, frail care and a specialised Alzheimer’s and dementia unit. It has a physical rehabilitation licence and a Board of Health Funders of South Africa PR number for qualifying patients.

Palm Royale will have a covered link to the Oasis Club, where facilities will be extended under the construction contract to include a 200seater multipurpose recreational and entertainment venue with a patio overlooking the ponds and gardens.
