Two more bodies dug up in Kestell as man admits to at least seven murders

-

POLICE in the Free State yesterday dug up the bodies of two more women on a farm in Kestell, believed to be those of the victims of a serial killer operating in the area.

The bodies were exhumed after the suspected serial killer, Lentsha Molefe, 32, who was arrested on Tuesday, admitted to at least seven murders.

The latest find brings the number of bodies discovered to six, with police unable to locate the seventh.

“The first two bodies were discovered on October 21 after the farm community suspected a foul smell was from a shallow grave under some bushes, and alerted police,” said police spokeswoman Thandi Mbambo.

Molefe was arrested shortly after- wards, and told police where he had buried his other victims.

“After pointing out the graves, the forensic team from Pretoria… resumed digging in the identified areas. On Wednesday they discovered the body of a 3-year-old boy… and on Thursday the body of a woman was also found,” Mbambo said. Yesterday two more bodies, lying adjacent to each other, were exhumed.

Molefe allegedly strangled his victims, who included four girlfriends, a relative, and the 3-year-old son of one of the victims.

Molefe appeared in court earlier this week after being charged with the first two murders.

“He will be now be charged on six counts of murder,” said Mbambo. – ANA
