Depp, Clooney films biggest flops of 2015

-

NEW YORK: George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Zac Efron may be among the brightest stars in Hollywood, but this year they also appeared in some of its biggest flops. They joined Bradley Cooper, Sean Penn and Bill Murray in headlining what Forbes called Hollywood’s biggest turkeys of the year, based on the percentage of their budg- ets they earned back at the theatre.

Leading the pile was Murray’s Rock the Kasbah, which grossed $2.9 million (R40.8m) on an estimated $15m production. Penn’s $40m thriller The Gunman failed, collecting $10.7m.

Clooney’s Tomorrowland grossed $209m, though the production budget was estimated at $190m. – Reuters
