POP-UP TALES. School holidays are almost upon us and there is heaps on. Thandi Buchan, a veteran of improvised theatre, has devised and directs this piece of improv theatre for children. Music is by Jaco Griessel. It is on at the Galloway Theatre from December 11-16 at 11.30 and 2pm (no shows on Sundays). This innovative new festival runs from December 2-12 at the Magnet Theatre in Observator­y. The programme features Scoop: Kitchen Play, a show for parents and babies up to a year old. Theatre for babies is a first for a South African production and was inspired by the residency earlier this year at Magnet of Replay Theatre, an Irish company. In addition to the show for babies, there are two shows for children up to the age of seven. Book at www.webtickets.co.za CHINA TO AFRICA. On Monday, the Jin Xing Dance Theatre, a contempora­ry dance company based in Shanghai, performs at Artscape at 7.30pm.
