Watch ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’

THE end of the school holidays is in sight and if my friends’ Facebook posts are anything to go by, it’s been a long hard slog and any ideas of what to do with the offspring are welcome.

The Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company is performing one of its most popular shows, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, at the Nassau Theatre at Groote Schuur High School until July 16. Curtain-up is at 10.30am.

This version of the children’s classic follows the adventure of Goldilocks in the forest before her birthday for which her grandfather is organising a party for her. Goldilocks gets lost in the woods and stumbles across a house belonging to the three bears. With nobody home, Goldilocks goes inside and makes herself at home. The three bears come home to find their visitor fast asleep with hilarious conse- quences. This enchanting fairy tale classic is full of laughter, audience participation and is great fun for the whole family.

Goldilocks And The Three Bears, which enjoyed sold-out runs at the Baxter Theatre and Nassau last year, is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy, who has been producing children’s theatre and delighting audiences for the past 23 years. This show stars Desle McConney as Goldilocks, Monique Rockman as Mama Bear, Carmen Maarman as Baby Bear, Robyn Maree as Papa Bear and Duffy as Grandpa.
