An­gels on Horse­back: Reloaded: At Alexan­der Up­stairs from Mon­day, un­til July 30, at 9pm. Di­rec­tion by Fiona du Plooy. It fol­lows the suc­cess of An­gels On Horse­back which was con­cep­tu­alised in 2007 and cre­ated by Du Plooy with Candice D ‘Arcy. It re­ceived a Fleur de Cap Award for Best Per­for­mance in a cabaret or re­vue in 2009. “I am the last of the orig­i­nal team in­volved.” said Du Plooy. “I have moved off the stage and am di­rect­ing, chore­ograph­ing and pro­duc­ing.” Da­neel Van Der Walt and Ali­cia McCormick front the pro­duc­tion. It also fea­tures gui­tarist Jonathon Tait and pi­anist ex­traor­di­naire David Lubbe. The show is funny, orig­i­nal, ten­der, risqué and hi­lar­i­ous. Louis Viljoen’s The Emis­sary at 7pm, is fol­lowed at 9pm by Court – writ­ten by Candice van Lit­sen­borgh. Emis­sary – “the study of a friend­ship rooted in a lie” stars Emily Child and An­drew Laub­scher. Court is a fic­tional story in­spired by the ex­pe­ri­ences of Sa­man­tha Glim­mer – the girl in the Ro­man Polan­ski rape case. Court is per­formed by van Lit­sen­borgh and Claire-Louise Worby.
