The Cape Flo­ral King­dom Expo 2016 is such an event. It promises to com­bine feel­ings of awe, in­spi­ra­tion and en­joy­ment with ed­u­ca­tional, fun filled ex­pe­ri­ences while wear­ing a con­ser­va­tion hat.

The expo will take place from Au­gust 18 to 21, at Mega Park in Bredas­dorp. The 8000m² un­der­cover fa­cil­ity will make this an all-weather event. food, wine and rooi­bos tea tast­ings. Eques­trian Event – fun in­door horse show with SARH classes, dres­sage, mini- com­pe­ti­tions and mount games. En­vi­ron­men­tal Ed­u­ca­tor – meet Gretha Louw with her mo­bile lab­o­ra­tory and mul­ti­ple sci­ence in­ter­ac­tion enich­ing children’s lives. Mad Hat­ters High Tea – hosted twice daily and will pro­vide vis­i­tors the op­por­tu­nity to show off their spe­cial hats Guru Book­shop – Kirsten­bosch Botan­i­cal Gar­den’s Guru Book­shop will of­fer a wide range of books on flora, fauna, gar­dens, gar­den­ing and ed­u­ca­tional children’s books. Con­ser­va­tion Ex­hi­bi­tions – pre­sented by Marine Dy­namic Con­ser­va­tion Trust, Botan­i­cal So­ci­ety of SA, Dyer Is­land Con­ser­va­tion Trust, Crew, I-spot, West Coast Bio­sphere, Flow­er­val­ley and more. Flea Mar­ket at The Fyn­bos Shed – ven­dors from all over the Cape Flo­ral Re­gion. Walk the Fyn­bos Labyrinth. Take part in the Flower Run – the flower run is the hap­pi­est five-kilo­me­ter, un-timed race on earth. “Color Run­ners”, are doused from head to toe in dif­fer­ent colours at each kilo­me­ter. With only two rules: Wear white at the start­ing line and fin­ish plas­tered in colour.
