The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds and South African National Parks host the annual Penguin Festival at Boulders Beach, Simon’s Town from 10am to 4pm today. The festival opens with the release of African penguins at 10am from Seaforth Beach. The event offers live music, kids’ games, edutainment and various exhibitions. The Guide-Dog Association South Africa’s gala dinner takes place at Kelvin Grove next Saturday. The line-up for the evening includes special guest Premier Helen Zille, entertainment from guide dog owners Michelle Botha and Jacques Coetzee, Danilo Acquisto of SABC 3 as master of ceremonies and Paralympian swimmer and guide dog owner, Hendri Herbst as keynote speaker.
