Cos­play to take cen­tre-stage at Canal Walk Gam­ing Expo

GAMERS will be in their el­e­ment next week when the sec­ond Canal Walk Gam­ing Expo, pow­ered by BT Games and Good Hope FM, launches at the cen­tre on Tues­day.

Fans and en­thu­si­asts of all ages are en­cour­aged to cos­play as they ex­pe­ri­ence more com­pe­ti­tions, more prizes and more op­por­tu­ni­ties to en­counter one of the world’s fastest grow­ing sec­tors – elec­tronic en­ter­tain­ment.

Com­ple­ment­ing the lat­est gam­ing re­leases, early fes­tive sea­son spe­cials, news and in­sights from the gam­ing world, the expo will stage the Kwesé Ace Foot­ball Tour­na­ment us­ing the new Xbox FIFA 2017 game.

PlayS­ta­tion fans will have their share of the fun with the chance to be a part of the fu­ture of gam­ing and PS Vir­tual Re­al­ity head­sets, which run on PS4 con­soles, in spe­cial booths on site. A num­ber of PSVR-spe­cific games have just been launched in the UK and BT Games has con­firmed there will be a wide se­lec­tion from which to choose at the expo, and will be tak­ing pre-or­ders ahead of the of­fi­cial South African launch which is only early next year.

Among the com­pe­ti­tions is a cos­play ini­tia­tive next Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 29 from 12pm.
