Yen­geni’s case set to come to an end

THE DRUNK driv­ing case against ANC Na­tional Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee mem­ber Tony Yen­geni may fi­nally wrap up early next year af­ter drag­ging on for more than three years.

Yen­geni was ar­rested on Au­gust 11, 2013, for al­legedly driv­ing while drunk.

He faced three charges: drunken driv­ing, driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol in ex­cess of the pre­scribed le­gal limit, as well as reck­less and neg­li­gent driv­ing.

He pleaded not guilty. His le­gal rep­re­sen­ta­tive, Wa­heed Badro­dien, said yes­ter­day that his client was glad the mat­ter is com­ing to an end.
