Dawjee off charges

MOHAMED Zameer Dawjee is no longer an accused in the corruption trial involving former Western Cape police commissioner Arno Lamoer, a city attorney has pointed out.

William Booth said the State had withdrawn the charges against Dawjee.

According to the indictment, Lamoer and the three police officials had allegedly received R1.6 million in bribes from Dawjee.

The trial is scheduled to take place in March.
