Zuma worthy of God’s wrath
IT IS deplorable President Jacob Zuma equates the birth of Christ with anything political, specifically, with the founding of the ANC as reported in Weekend Argus, January 7.
His insufferable presumption God is on the ANC’s side is impudent and reprehensible.
He does not have any understanding of the Word of God or the ways of God, nor possess a minuscule amount of the Fear of the Lord, or he would not invoke biblical or divine association.
It would seem the president is ignorant of scriptural passages such as, “But to the wicked, God says: ‘What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you’.
“When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.
“You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit. You speak continually against your brother and slander your own mother’s son.
“These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you.
“But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face.’” (Psalm 50: 16-21).
How should 783 counts of fraud, bribery and corruption; nepotism; the issues surrounding the Reserve Bank, the Guptas, SAA, Eskom, Water Affairs, SABC and even the country’s security be viewed?
As mistakes or wickedness? If the president is able to use a metaphor about a soccer game, having been a footballer, he should also be aware that where there is foul play a red card is usually delivered.
The above mentioned issues are not just mistakes ,they are gross fouls. In biblical language, they would be termed gross evils worthy of God’s wrath.
When attempting to invoke divine association, the president would do well to keep this in mind and remember the Bible tells us judgement begins with the house of God (1 Peter 4:17).
