Crocodile dare teen in hospital

QUEENSLAND: An Australian teenager bitten by a crocodile when he jumped into a river on a dare is recovering in hospital and looking forward to a date with the girl he was trying to impress.

Lee De Paauw, 18, had met British Sophie Paterson while drinking with friends at a backpackers’ hostel in Innisfail, Queensland.

Accepting a dare to jump into the Johnstone River, he was snapped up by a crocodile. “I punched it in the snout”, De Paauw said from his hospital bed. He suffered serious injuries to his arm and had surgery. – Reuters
