Wine fest to have a crush on

-

AT THE third annual Noordhoek Crush, which takes place today from 11am to 5pm at Noordhoek Farm Village, visitors will be able to sip, swirl and buy more than 100 wines from 20 wine farms at cellar door prices, as well as three craft gins from 333 Distillery.

Worry not about the offspring; this is a family event where children will be entertained with various activities like face painting and sand art, as well as the permanent purpose-built play area. There are lawns for them to run around on, and for the adults to relax upon while listening to the live music.

Noordhoek Crush is hosted by the restaurants in the village – The Foodbarn, The Foodbarn Deli, Café Roux, The Toad in the Village, The Village Sushi and Orderwine.co.za – which will all be open for business as well as providing pop-up stalls, and waiving their corkage fees so everyone can enjoy their wines at cellar door prices both at the event and what they buy to take home. The organisers have secured more parking for this year’s event, but implore you not to drink and drive, as do I. All profits from this event go to Foundation for Alcohol Related Research (FARR, www. farrsa.org.za). Entrance is free but for those who want to explore the wine stalls, a R150 tasting passport (which includes a wine glass) can be bought at www.quicket.co.za. These are limited to 750. Check the Facebook page (www.facebook. com/events/1268577313249732/) for availability before you head out.
