Bieber’s bizarre demands include yoga casket

MARIAH Carey famously wanted bendy straws and sofas in dark colours with “no busy patterns”, while Cher requested a separate room for her wigs.

Now Justin Bieber – who is due to bring his Purpose tour to South Africa later this month with a Cape Town performance scheduled for May 17 – appears to have joined the long list of celebrities who make ludicrous demands while on the road.

Before the Indian leg of his tour next week, the 23-year-old singer – whose hits include Love Yourself – has reportedly requested two five-star hotels for his 120-strong team; chef- prepared meals named after his songs; a jet and helicopter on standby to meet his “travel demands”; a Jacuzzi to “unwind in before he takes the stage” and purple carnations.

The list of demands, which appeared to be from a member of Bieber’s team, was uploaded on to Twitter by Mumba journalist Arjun Ravi.

Other demands apparently include an “Indian yoga casket” packed full of essential oils, a female masseuse flown in from the Indian state of Kerala, a convoy of 10 luxury sedans and two Volvo buses for his entourage and a RollsRoyce reserved for the star.

The document also stated the two five-star hotels were to be reserved for “security reasons”.

“The hotel will convert itself into Bieber’s private villa with three floors of the hotel being booked for the artist and his entourage and one elevator blocked on all four full dates for the singer alone.”

It continues: “Top culinary experts will supervise the gourmet food being served to Bieber over the four days with five dishes per day being renamed after his popular songs.”

His hotel room and backstage dressing room will also need to undergo some changes to accommodate the star. The release states: “The hotel will re-design his suite and incorporate Mogul paintings, antique furniture and signature Kashmiri bedroom linen.

“His room will be adorned with purple carnations – purple being his favourite colour.”

A special Indian yoga casket containing aromatic essential oils and books on chakras were also to be placed in his suite to accommodate his “love for yoga”. The backstage dressing room is to be “draped with white curtains” and supplied with two packs of plain white T-shirts, 12 handkerchiefs and a boombox with an iPhone.

To round off the list, a Jacuzzi will be required in which Bieber can “unwind” before performing to fans.

The Canadian singer rented a £25 million home in London on his UK tour last year, as well as a £17 000-a-month rural retreat – complete with a helipad, indoor pool and five-a-side football pitch.
