Telenovela ‘11’ lines up to score
GABO Moreti is a gifted teen soccer player – one so talented that he has been scouted by a top football academy.
Gabo ( played by Mariano González) is a 16-year-old boy who lives with his grandmother Amelia in the picturesque town of Álamo Seco in Argentina. He is the hero of Disney XD’s new action telenovela 11, which kicks off on Monday.
Gabo’s greatest passion is soccer. His superb skills are spotted by Francisco (Nicolas Pauls), a football coach at the prestigious sports-oriented high school, Instituto Académico Deportivo.
Francisco offers Gabo a scholarship and a place on the Golden Hawks, the school’s official soccer team.
And that is how Gabo’s adventures begin. He dreams of becoming a great player, but little does he know the secrets of his family’s story are about to be uncovered.
The Golden Hawks have suf- fered a major loss: most of the team’s players have gone to other schools
or joined the lower ranks of professional teams. Gabo has a critical role to play and this is not good news for Lorenzo (Sebastian Athié), the team’s star centre-forward and only remaining player from the original team. Gabo will face many challenges, but he won’t be alone: he’ll have the support of his good friends, Ricky (Juan David Penagos) and Dedé (Luan Brum). As the series continues, Gabo experiences victories, defeats and the pain of facing the truth about his family’s story. 11 is about sport, achievement and overcoming obstacles, and will focus on 11 boys who must play as a solid team to achieve their dreams. The show’s premiere is on Monday at 4.50pm on Disney XD, DStv Channel 304, in Spanish with English dubbing. – WAY Reporter
