Artscape Youth Month celebratio­n THE inaugural month-long youth festival is on at Artscape June 3 to July 15. The varied programme includes a mash-up of drama, dance music and other genres.

The Cape Town College of Magic annual Imagine! Family Magic Spectacula­r is on June 3 at 5.30pm. Other performanc­es of the magic show are sold out.

Smoortjies & Smoothies featuring Jitsvinger and Mervyn Africa is on June 23 – 24. They will explore “how musical traditions are passed on like family recipes.”

Jing’elweni ( Hanging from a Cliff), is on June 5-8. It is a community theatre project devised by director Thando Baliso and cast, in partnershi­p with Uprising Arts Project.

It tells the story of young Kwindla who clings to her education as an escape from turmoil and poverty.

Renaissanc­e Wessel Pretorius has written and directed this comedy/drama which is on at Alexander Upstairs from Monday to June 10, at 9pm.

It is performed by Len-Barry Simons, Jazzara Jaslyn and David Viviers.

This Oliver Award-winning comedy is on until June 17 at Theatre on the Bay.

It is an upper of a comedy. Alan Committie directs – except when the actors improvise. They are Robert Fridjhon, Sive Gubangxa, Russel Savadier, Craig Jackson, Roberto Pombo, Nicole Franco and Louis Viljoen. Tickets are R120-R220. Book at Computicke­t.
