Variety on offer at debut auction in Woodstock
More than 400 lots of movable items to go under hammer
THE newly-established Bidway Auction House will host its first movables auction at 11am on June 10 at its premises, 179 Albert Road, Woodstock, where more than 400 lots will go under the hammer.
Managed by a team that has more than 25 years of combined auction experience and is headed by Stef Olivier, who was South Africa’s bid calling auctioneering champion in 2012, the auction house will present a large selection of top- quality household appliances from top brands such as LG, Samsung, Defy, Blaupunkt, JVC and Cadac for sale at its debut event.
“More than 42 fridges, including French-door fridges, side-by-side fridges and combination fridges, will be displayed for sale on the auction floor,” said Olivier. Also on auction will be a variety of top-loader washing machines, front- loader washers and dryers, dishwashers and microwave ovens, all in excellent condition.
To complement the household appliances, a large selection of solid wood Blackwood and Oregon furniture will be offered for sale, with 12-, 10-, eight- and six-seater dining tables and chairs, plasma television stands, bookcases, butchers’ blocks and coffee tables among the items available.
“We will also be bringing to market an exclusive selection of audio- visual equipment, which promises to be among the auction highlights,” he says. “There will be more than 40 LED and SUHD television sets on auction, ranging from Samsung’s entry-level 32” LED TVs to LG’s 40” and 48” offerings, and a number of 55” and 65” televisions from Samsung.”
Olivier predicts that one television set in particular might cause a bidding war: the Samsung 78” Series 9 SUHD Quantum Dot Display TV.
The auction floor will also be filled with home entertainment units, Blu Ray and 3D players, and a variety of top quality sound bars, he says.
The auction assets may be viewed between 9am and 4pm on June 9, at the auction venue, where ample parking is available and interested parties can examine the articles at leisure. “There will also be enough parking on the premises on the auction day for clients who will be attending,” said Olivier.
