Dale Staples from St Francis Bay has won a coveted entry to the Corona Open JBay after an imperious display of power surfing at the JBU Supertrial Powered by Monster Energy. Staples was in sync all day, ending off with a perfect 10 point ride for a deep barrel in the final. The Yzerfontein MTB race takes place today with a 78 km and a 52km route. The course looks flat and fast, with about half on tar and half on jeep track, with a bit of sand. It appeals to fit, non-technical riders who can spot ostriches, tortoises, flamingos and eland along the way. After epic waves for the first two days of the Outerknown Fiji Pro, the surf fizzled.
