Book date with Cape Town Book Sale

THERE is noth­ing bet­ter than curl­ing up with a good book and es­cap­ing from the world for a while. The Cape Town Book Sale takes place at the V&A Wa­ter­front from June 16-18 and prom­ises to be one of the largest, with sev­eral lo­cal book shops be­ing rep­re­sented.

“These in­clude Bar­gain Books, Wordsworth Books, Books 24/7, Wil­stan Books, Har­grave Li­brary Ser­vices and Cax­ton Books, with the sole ob­jec­tive of sell­ing mul­ti­lin­gual, mul­ti­cul­tural books that will ap­peal to all book lovers at the low­est prices avail­able in Cape Town,” says event spokesper­son Les­ley Fer­reira.

On of­fer will be, among oth­ers, pop­u­lar fic­tion/non-fic­tion; hard­cov­ers/pa­per­backs; English/Afrikaans/other lan­guages; aca­demic; re­li­gious and chil­dren’s books.

On Sun­day, June 18, dads can get in free. Visit the Cape Town Book Sale page on Face­book (not the event), click the “claim of­fer” but­ton and take the email you re­ceive with you.

Tick­ets are R25 through Webtick­ets. Chil­dren un­der 12 en­ter free. It opens at 9am and closes at 10pm and if you get a Beat The Crowd ticket (R125) you go in from 9am till 10.30am to get first dibs.
