GENEVA: The UN hu­man rights in­ves­ti­ga­tor on North Korea has called on Py­ongyang to pro­vide a full ex­pla­na­tion of why an Amer­i­can stu­dent was re­turned home this week in a coma af­ter be­ing in cus­tody for more than a year.

Otto Warm­bier, 22, who was held in North Korea for 17 months, is in a state of “un­re­spon­sive wake­ful­ness”, his Ohio doc­tors said.. To­mas Ojea Quin­tana said the au­thor­i­ties have to ex­plain what made him slip into a coma. – Reuters
