Last State witness in wife killing trial

-

THE STATE is expected to close its case against murder-accused Christopher Panayiotou and his two co-accused Sinethemba Nenembe and Zolani Sibeko in the Port Elizabeth High Court soon.

State prosecutor Marius Stander told the court yesterday he would re-call investigating officer Kanna Swanepoel next week as the last witness.

Earlier the State called Samier September from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University to testify on Nenembe’s student records. He said Nenembe enrolled in 2009 and had adjusted his cellphone number on his profile in 2015.

The State showed a sick note given to the university by Nenembe which contained his cellphone number. The trial continues on Monday. – ANA
