ABSA and the ultimate irony

IF, as the new public protector has declared, ABSA pays back the money, since the previous government gave it, the payment should go not to the present government but to the people whose tax money was given to ABSA.

ABSA has already increased its bank charges this year. If they are forced to pay back that money, they will impose further large increases.

The taxpayers whose money was given to ABSA would have been mainly white, and the present ABSA clients who would have to pay the increased charges would be mainly black. So black people would have to repay white people’s money. Oh, the irony of it all.
