No property deals without Privyseal
SINCE the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) made the use of Privyseal mandatory for registered estate agents more than 3 million EAAB Privyseals are now displayed monthly.
Privyseal is a digital seal that authenticates the registration status of registered estate agents in real time. It is added to an agent’s email signature, website, property profiles and listings on property portals.
By reflecting the registration status and qualifications of estate agents, the Privyseal enables consumers to immediately gauge an agent’s level of knowledge, experience and expertise.
Consumers can also ascertain the registration status of an agent, given that agents may be interns, full status non-principals, full status non-principals who have earned the designation “professional practitioner in real estate”, principal estate agents, or principal agents who have earned the designation “master practitioner in real estate”.
The use of Privyseal also creates trust in the minds of consumers by showcasing the legal compliance status of estate agents. Consumers should reasonably expect registered estate agents to show their Privyseal, which will enable them to distinguish between illegal practitioners and genuine agents. Only registered estate agents are able to use the Privyseal.
It is important that all property consumers are aware and know to check an agent’s communication to ensure they have their respective Privyseal dispayed, and that a registered estate agent’s Privyseal must display the current date and time.
Consumers should insist on dealing only with agents whose Privyseal reflects their registration status is up to date. Privyseal is an invaluable weapon in the armoury of property consumers.
