Claremont food market assets to go under hammer
BIDWAY Auction House will sell the complete contents of a food market, restaurant, delicatessen, bakery and supermarket in Claremont as the food market’s lease agreement has come to an end.
The auction will take place on site at the food market’s premises at 20 Vineyard Road, Claremont, on Wednesday at 11am.
Auctioneer Stef Olivier, who heads Bidway, says the auction house will sell all the equipment, furniture, cold rooms, bar counters and light fittings.
On the auction block will be curved glass display fridges, upright deli display fridges, salad valley display fridges, and more than 15 stainless steel undercounter bar fridges.
A Taylor singlebarrel soft-serve ice-cream machine, a 150kg ice machine, bar blenders and a large variety of stainless steel pot sinks and stainless stainless steel tables will also go under the hammer.
“We have received instructions to sell all the assets, including two massive cold rooms and a freezer room, the contents of a complete bakery and a large sushi conveyer belt,” says Olivier.
“The restaurant underwent a small revamp nine months ago so all the equipment that will be on offer – ranging from convection ovens, dishwashers and fryers to flat-top grills – is in excellent condition.”
He says restaurant furniture and picnic benches will also be for sale.
The auction items may be viewed between 9am and 4pm on Tuesday.
