Liquidated engineering firm’s vehicles, other assets to go on block
THE LIQUIDATORS of Langford Power have instructed Bidway Auction House to sell all the engineering firm’s vehicles and assets at its premises at 17 Vonkel Street, Saxon Park 2 in Blackheath on Tuesday.
Langford Power was known for designing and building generators on a large scale, says auctioneer Stef Olivier, who heads Bidway Auction House.
“All its engineering equipment, and also all the vehicles and a forklift, will be sold as individual lots on the day of auction.”
The wide array of equipment on the auction floor will include a 3mm metal shearer, a 1.5mm metalbending machine and a 1.5mm metal sheet-rolling machine.
Also up for sale will be a pipe bender, two 400 Inverter welding machines, and various air compressors.
“All the stocks of new Cummins spare parts that were to be used to build the generators will also go under the hammer, with tool kits, air filters, gaskets and fan belts going on the block.”
The vehicles to be sold on the day are a 2009 Ford Ranger singlecab bakkie and a 2008 Opel Corsa 1.4 Club bakkie.
A 2008 Clark five-ton diesel forklift that was used to move heavy parts and machinery to complete projects in the workshop will also be up for auction.
Olivier says the office furniture will consist of L-shaped desks, two-door stationery cabinets, boardroom tables and swivel office chairs.
“The Langford Power offices were renovated a year ago, and all the office furniture and computers are in very good condition,” he says.
As so many smaller tools and pieces of equipment will also be available, he suggests buyers should go in on the viewing day to inspect the items that will be auctioned.
The auction assets may be viewed between 9am and 4pm on Monday. The auction will start at 11am on Tuesday.
