Contents of restaurant, bistro and bakery to go on auction

THE COMPLETE contents of a well-known 200-seater restaurant will go under the hammer on Tuesday, as will the assets of a bistro and bakery, a range of exclusive furniture and the contents of a solar energy company.

This makes the auction, which starts at 11am, one of Velox Auctioneers’ biggest to date.

Auctioneer Jaun-Pierre (JP) Olivier says the contents of the restaurant will include three-group Brasilia espresso machines, a two-group Vega espresso machine, six 2.5-door under-bar fridges, a hood-type dishwasher, which includes the complete system, and 12 stainless steel tables of various sizes, as well as leather chairs and tables with upholstered chairs.

“The sale will also include items from the preparation, cold storage and dry storage areas, the freezer room, the grill and back kitchen, plus the coffee station and bar. Cake display fridges and LCD TVs will also go on the block,” says Olivier.

The restaurant was revamped fairly recently, and the assets are still “in great condition.”

The assets of the small bistro and baker are also in good condition.

Among these are a top-slider antique Coke fridge, a Convecta 7 oven, an upright proofer, a cake mixer, a 2.5 glass door under-bar fridge, a four-pan anvil oven on stand, and a four-burner gas boiling table.

Referring to the furniture that will be auctioned, Olivier says: “An importer has decided to liquidate a warehouse full of exclusive furniture and this is the first time Velox has received this type of furniture for sale on the auction floor.”

There will be 60 or more pieces on offer, including teak table sets, oak cabinets, an oak table, an oak chair, an oak TV cabinet, an oak dresser, an oak cabinet, a walnut table, dining tables and chairs, a display cabinet and a leather banquette.

“In addition, the contents of a solar energy company will go on auction, offering buyers who would like to go green a chance to convert their premises at a more affordable rate,” he says.

The auction items may be viewed between 11am and 4pm on Monday at Velox’s premises at 27 Stella Road, Montague Gardens.
