Hawks arrest second club shooting suspect

-

A SECOND suspect is behind bars for the shooting at a restaurant in the upmarket Cape Town seaside suburb of Camps Bay in April, the Hawks said yesterday.

“A 36-year-old suspect from Mitchells Plain, linked to the shooting incident at Café Caprice, was arrested yesterday by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Unit members,” Hawks spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha said.

“He is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court alongside Jordan Fabe, 25.”

Fabe briefly appeared in court on Monday after his arrest on September 29.

The Hawks took over the investigation from local police after reports surfaced the shooting was linked to the underworld club turf war in Cape Town.

Two people sustained gunshot wounds when gunmen stormed into Café Caprice and started shooting indiscriminately. The two arrests for the Café Caprice incident followed the arrest of Naeem Harris, 21, in connection with another shooting incident allegedly linked to the turf war. – ANA
