Rio games chief held for graft
THE scandal engulfing the International Olympic Committee and officials from the 2016 Olympic Games has escalated.
Rio committee president Carlos Nuzman and his right-hand man, Leonardo Gryner, were arrested yesterday for “corruption, money laundering and criminal organisation”.
There are also allegations of bribes of $2 million (R27m) and possession of 16 gold bars. Nuzman is suspected of vote-buying to secure the Games for Rio. – Daily Mail
