IT’S Christmas time in the Mother City, which means that over and above the various festive season activities and events taking place around Cape Town, there’s tons of stuff to do in the run-up to both Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Sizzled Summer Music and Food Festival: The Grand Boxing Day Celebratio­n:

Get Sizzled this Boxing Day at the Sizzled Summer Music and Food Festival.

The Castle of Good Hope will play host to the annual event, which features a smorgasbor­d of gourmet food offerings and food trucks, with live entertainm­ent by some of the country’s best undergroun­d artists and musos.

Silent Disco Sunset Beach Party:

This one's for music lovers who are looking for a mellow music experience. The Silent Disco Sunset Beach Party at the picturesqu­e Clifton 3rd Beach kicks off from 5pm tonight.

The event features three different DJs who will all play their unique playlists simul- taneously, while you get to rock out to the music wearing earphones and dancing until sunset.

Ticket prices cost R60 for kids and R120 for adults and the price includes headphones rental.

Kirstenbos­ch Summer Sunset concert:

It’s Summer Sunset Concert time again at Kirstenbos­ch Gardens and what better way to bring in Christmas than with a trip down musical memory lane.

Today’s live music event features legendary South African band, Mango Groove, with other featured artists like GoldFish and HotWater expected to showcase their talents on the Kirstenbos­ch stage later this month.
