Don’t miss the exciting all-female ‘ Taming of Shrew’ at Maynardville, writes

Maynardville has been rebranded as The Maynardville Open-Air Festival.
In addition to the Bard and the ballet – the two staples of Maynardville – there will be music, comedy and other happenings, and new food and drink offerings, although visitors are still welcome to bring their picnics.
The festival starts on January 18 with Symphonic Shakespeare, with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra playing orchestral works which underscore Shakespeare plays, passages and characters.
● The Taming of the Shrew is on Monday to Saturdays at 8.15pm. Tickets are R150-R220. On Valentine’s Night,February 14, there will be prizes. School performances on February 12,
13, 20 and 20 at 7.30pm – talk, followed by show at 8pm.
