WITH so many great events taking place around the province at the weekend, you’ll be spoilt for choice about what to do.

Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of your Saturday and Sunday.

Saggy Stone Beer and Music Festival:

Take a road trip to Robertson and make a weekend out of it at the annual Saggy Stone Beer and Music Festival.

The two- day festival is family-friendly and promises delicious food, some of South Africa’s biggest music acts – including Rubber Duc, Desmond & The Tutus and Jeremy Loops – and, of course, lots of great local beer.

So, if a weekend of live music and ice- cold beer is your thing, head on over to the Amandalia Farm, the home of Saggy Stone Brewing Company, which lies is at the foot of the Langeberg.

Doors open at 10.30am today, and the festival closes late tomorrow evening.

Tsotsi, the Musical: Academy award- winning South African movie Tsotsi is experienci­ng a revival – on the stage of the Artscape Theatre.

Based on the novel by acclaimed South African author Athol Fugard, Tsotsi, The Musical is the gritty tale of a hardened criminal who finds redemption through a series of life-changing events.

Produced by Cape Town Opera, the musical stars hip hop artist Mxolisi “Zuluboy” Majozi as Tsotsi, with music composed by singer-songwriter Zwai Bala.

The production runs until next Saturday.

DarkFEST:

Calling all adrenalin junkies and dirt bike enthusiast­s!

DarkFEST, Africa’s biggest dirt jump event, starts at the Hellsend Dirt Compound, Vuurberg, Stellenbos­ch, at 9am today.

Featuring some of the world’s best freeriders, incredible dirt sculptures and a course to test the mettle of even the most daring bikers, the event promises plenty of daredevil excitement, acrobatic feats on two wheels and high- octane entertainm­ent.

General admission starts at R150.
