Markle has Monopoly on game

-

SHE HAS already upgraded from a rented home in Toronto to London’s Kensington Palace, which, of course, has Free Parking and is a short stroll from Park Lane and Mayfair. So, perhaps it was inevitable Meghan Markle would inspire a new edition of Monopoly.

Hasbro has just passed Go on a revamp of the board game that will replace the familiar London properties with landmarks associated with Windsor, where the Suits star is set to marry Britain’s Prince Harry on May 19.

The new properties include Eton, where Harry went to school; Windsor Great Park, which for centuries was a private Royal hunting ground and High Street, where tens of thousands of well-wishers will gather to cheer the newlyweds.

Windsor Castle, where Meghan will be marry her prince, takes prime position.

Winning Moves UK is creating the Royal Windsor game under licence and is inviting suggestions for other landmarks as well as Chance and Community Chest cards – such as paying the tip after dinner in a Windsor restaurant with the royal couple. Sales executive Jennifer Lau said: “We were planning an official announcement sometime in the next year. You could say the game is by royal command.”

The game is the latest in wedding memorabilia. However Meghan will never get to take on her new in-laws at Monopoly because there’s a strict royal family ban on the game – apparently it gets “too vicious” when they play. – Mail On Sunday
