Future-proof homes for grey years

-

DAVID has picked up on last week’s ideas around stop-cocks and has sent this note and attached picture.

I guess I must give myself a pat on the back regarding Dorty’s letter. We had this done some years ago before we found it impossible to kneel down.

This raises another topic which we tend to overlook as the years creep up on us – perhaps I should start including it in the column. We all think we are invincible but eventually taps become harder to open, stairs become harder to climb and getting in and out of the bath can be dangerous.

Gillian had a question after I wrote about dodgy water tanks last week:

I was interested to read in your column that not all the water tanks are of a good quality and you said you wouldn’t like to make the brands known. We ordered a tank, which we thought was a JoJo because that’s what the sales slip said. It turned out to be an Eco tank and we have been charged the price of an Eco tank although the sales slip said it was a JoJo. Have you had any negative feedback about the Eco tank?

I have heard nothing bad about Eco tanks and a quick check on the internet shows they carry a 10-year guarantee.
