Serving society selflessly
ON SUNDAY March 11, the Cape Town Cycle Tour took place in which more than 30 000 cyclists from around the country participated to raise funds for charity.
As this is one of the greatest events in Cape Town, the World Mission Society Church of God volunteers supported this event.
More than 100 volunteers gathered in Perdekloof, Simon’s Town, at 4am and prepared their water station.
The cyclists were met with cheers and singing, and encouragement to continue the race until the end.
The World Mission Society Church of God volunteers have become well known to the organisers of the event, who have praised the volunteers, who passionately cheer from the beginning of the race until the end – without any rest.
This group is well known internationally and received the UK Queen’s Award in 2016.
