Charming Swartland four-star hotel on offer
RIEBEEK Valley Hotel, a country retreat with sweeping views of picturesque vineyards, olive groves and the Kasteelberg mountains, will go on auction on April 25.
“The hotel encapsulates old-world charm in a peaceful setting,” says Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape.

Located in Riebeek West, just 50 minutes’ drive from Cape Town, the four-star hotel is close to several awardwinning historical wine estates.
The property, which has a total area of 11 343m2, includes 27 rooms, a restaurant, boardroom, two conference rooms and a dining room.
The facilities make it an ideal location for weddings, special events and large functions, says Jovanovski.
The main conference centre, which can seat up to 100 people, has its own kitchen and an outdoor entertainment area with a pool and braai spot. The smaller conference room seats 50 people and has an indoor pool.
The hotel’s rooms are individually decorated. There are six suites, 16 superior rooms and five standard rooms.
The Bishops Restaurant & Bar seats 60 people.
Jovanovski believes the building’s architectural style and decor, and the lush gardens and surrounding vineyards, make this property an excellent investment.
The property will be auctioned in Rondebosch at noon on April 25. The reserve price is R22 million, but all offers will be considered. The seller is registered for VAT so transfer duty will not be payable.
No registration fee is required to bid. However, the buyer will be expected to pay a deposit of 5% of the purchase price, as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the purchase price on the seller’s acceptance of the bid.
Bidders must be registered and must have with them certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence.
