Hundreds of lots in two-day sale

WH AUCTIONS Cape has been instructed by joint liquidators to auction 800 lots over two days.
Martin Dibowitz, who heads WH Auctions Cape, believes the sale of movable assets of construction and plant hire companies will be the largest of its kind in many years to be held in the Western Cape.
“We’ve had to split the auction over two days as there are too many items to sell on one day. The auction will be held at two of the liquidated companies’ sites in Montague Gardens and Vissershok,” he says.
The focus on the first day of the auction will be mainly on the sale of earthmoving equipment including graders, rollers, road reclaimers,
TLBs, telehandlers, chip spreaders, pneumatic rollers and excavators; and of the transport fleet including tippers, cement mixers, crane trucks, water tankers, dropside trucks, horses, lowbed trailers, bakkies and panel vans.
“The small plant, including generators, water and diesel bowsers, survey equipment and a Potain self-erecting crane, as well as a large amount of scaffolding, ski cabins and containers, will also be available.”
In addition, the contents of about 80 offices, ranging from laptops to PCs, colour copiers, printers and executive office furniture and equipment will go under the hammer.
On the second day accommodation units, office containers, storage containers, access containers, small plant, road signage, a Potain tower crane, traffic units, scrap metal and more furniture and equipment will go on the block.
“The list of auction assets is updated daily as the equipment is collated,” Dibowitz says.
The auction will start at 10.30am on Wednesday at 1 Link Close, Montague Gardens.
The sale will continue on Thursday at 10.30am at NMC’s Vissershok farm.
The assets may be viewed at the two venues between 9.30am and 4pm on Monday and Tuesday.
