Three events to lure you out this weekend

JOIN the festivitie­s at the Harfield Village Carnival today in Second Avenue.

The event has been running for more than 10 years.

Close to 200 stalls will line the street, with wine, craft beer, clothes, home decor and toys for sale. The children’s programme begins at 9am and includes face-painting, a glitter tattoo artist, a magician, a balloon artist, a clown and a craft market. Entry is free.

In case you’ve missed it, today is the last day of the Whisky Live Festival at The Lookout in Granger Bay. More than 150 exhibitors have been showing off some the finest single malts and blends in the world over the past few days.

The event runs from 6pm to 10pm, and three categories of tickets are available. A general access ticket includes 16 whisky- tasting vouchers, a Consol bottle of still water, and a glass. The general access ticket costs R210 a person and R245 at the door. A designated driver ticket includes a Consol bottle of still water and a glass and costs R110. A VIP ticket includes access to a lounge area, a meal, local bar, whisky-tasting vouchers, a Consol bottle of still water and a glass. It costs R1 539 a person. Take a short road trip to Caledon for the Organik Love Project Trance Party. The event gets under way in the Overberg today, and features Rinkadink, On3, Archive vs Iron Lotus, Bruce, Dave Mac, Drifter, Fogshow, Headroom, iTone, Sadhu Sensi, Silo and Tersius.

Pitch a tent in one of the camping areas. The party also features a shaded dance floor. Tickets, from R340 to R450, are available at www.organik.co.za. Sunday passes are also available at the venue. Merchandis­e, crafts and food will be on sale today and tomorrow.
