Zonnezicht meets older buyers’ needs

-

CONSTRUCTION on a retirement village in Durbanville is underway and will offer 229 homes for retirees, including one- and two-bedroom units and 28 assisted living units in the second phase.

Located on Koeberg Road near Durbanville centre and a Mediclinic, the Zonnezicht Retirement Village will allow for independent living but will also include medical facilities and recreational activities.

The apartments will have beautiful finishes and views of the Winelands, says Pam Golding Properties agent Estelle Laäs. The sectional title properties will meet older buyers’ growing need for upmarket accommodation and an unfettered lifestyle, and also suit the mature traveller wanting a lock-up-and-go property.

“There is a shortage of retirement accommodation in Cape Town, so Zonnezicht is an ideal investment opportunity for families looking for accommodation for their parents or for buyers wanting to plan ahead for their own retirement,” says Laäs.

Residents will have access to recreational areas of the clubhouse, including the gym, pool, library, hairdresser and beauty salon. Lifts lead down to 102 basement parking bays and all apartments, priced from R2.189 million, including VAT, come with appliances, curtains and blinds, and an LED television. Residents will also be able to use the wifi hotspot in the clubhouse.

Occupation is expected from next month.

The developer, Anton Mulder Construction, says the village is well-placed in an established neighbourhood that offers easy access to medical facilities and shops and is just a short drive from Cape Town.
