More offerings in Plett for retirees
PHASE two of The Plettenberg Manor has broken ground and will see at least 30 houses built before the end of the year.
Similar to phase one, the new homes in the retirement development by the Devmark Property Group, will be one of eight accommodation types, ranging from apartments to three-bedroom exclusive homes designed in the Cape vernacular style. This will juxtapose the Cape south coast’s rural charm with sophisticated modern functionality and openplan living, says Devmark chief executive of Hein Ehlers.
“We’re thrilled with the development on the estate. The first residents are starting to move in.”
The Plettenberg Manor is Devmark’s eighth retirement village in 28 years.
Erik Steyl, managing director of Devmark Construction, says: “We’re building other people’s futures today.”
The restoration and refur- bishment of the former Keurbooms River Hotel will result in a clubhouse where residents and guests can experience dining and leisure options. The clubhouse will include a restaurant, coffee shop, ladies bar, beauty salon, convenience store, assisted living suites and a health-care centre including a 24-bed frail-care centre. There is also a fully equipped gym and a swimming pool.
Apartments sell
R1.45 million to R3.825m.
“With its coastal location and excellent security, The Plettenberg Manor will offer residents direct access to a private beach, hiking trails, bird hides for birdwatchers and bowling greens – all on the estate. A shuttle service will make getting around easy and convenient.
“Not only does this development promise to offer an excellent return on investment, but also the perfect lifestyle,” Ehlers says.
