Shirt that sealed it for Meg

-

SHE is rumoured to be the mystery matchmaker who set Britain’s Prince Harry up on a blind date with actress Meghan Markle.

Now, designer Misha Nonoo, a guest of honour at last Saturday’s royal wedding, appears to be leading attempts to cash in on the event.

She has been marketing the £138 (R2 300) white Husband shirt she gave Markle to wear on her first official appearance with Harry as “the shirt that sealed the deal”. In case anyone fails to get the message, the US-based designer’s post on Instagram contains an emoji of a brunette in a crown.

Nonoo, who was married to William and Harry’s friend Alexander Gilkes, regularly advertises the Husband shirt.

She previously shared a photograph of Markle wearing it in September when the actress attended the Invictus Games in Toronto with Harry.

Then, the caption read: “MM in her MN (Misha Nonoo) shirt from our #Easy8 (collection).”

Nonoo’s closeness to the couple meant she was seated with the royal family in the Quire of St George’s Chapel last weekend. However, she is not the first friend of the Duchess of Sussex to try to capitalise on her new royal connections

Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney, mother of bridesmaid Ivy and pageboys John and Brian, ensured her business associates were able to make hay. First, there was the royal blue, cap sleeve number she sported for the wedding itself. A pop-up collection by Di Carlo Couture went live on the morning of the wedding with the “Jessica”dress available for £1 100. – Daily Mail/African News Agency (ANA)
